The drug should strictly be used as per the prescription. There is also an instruction sheet on the packaging that you can refer to. It is swallowed by mouth after eating a heavy meal. The drug has very strict schedule that must be followed to the letter if you are to get well. Make sure that you never have to miss a dose and if you do, take it soonest. However, if it is already time to take the next dose, then wait, but do not take two doses at the same time.
The tablets are available in 1 mg and 5 mg quantities. Adults take 20 to 40 mg daily to begin with, then increase to 80 mg then finally reduce to 5 to 20 mg daily. Children take the drug as prescribed depending on their age.
